The Grand Legacy at the Park is an excellent choice for a Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotel.
We recently stayed at the Grand Legacy and the highlights of my review were the pool, the comfortable beds, and the view of the Disneyland fireworks.
The rooms have either 2 queen beds or 1 king bed, and not all bathrooms have a double sink. They have several room types to fit varied budgets, but they all come with a fridge and a microwave.
I swear the beds were so comfortable we woke up well-rested even with our long days walking over 20,000 steps around the theme parks.
Our girls absolutely loved the beach-like walk into the shallow end of the heated pool and the splash pad. We could see the Disneyland fireworks from the pool and our hotel room.
The best part? It took us less than 5 minutes to walk across the street to Disneyland for Rope Drop.

You may have heard a lot about the “HoJo,” and for good reason. This family-friendly hotel boasts a water playground and is conveniently close to the Disneyland Parks.
It’s an older hotel that could use some updates. Keep in mind this is still a moderate category Disney Good Neighbor Hotel, not Deluxe or Superior.
The HoJo water park is perfect for kids, but you do need reservations. The plus side is that it keeps the water park pool area less crowded.

A lot of reviews complain that the pool and water park areas were closed for sanitation while they were there.
Unfortunately, that’s something a bit out of everyone’s control (especially with young kids swimming). I know I would rather have it closed for occasional cleaning than have it rarely cleaned.
That being said, most reviews and feedback I’ve heard have all been very positive! We would definitely try out this hotel if we weren’t staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel.

Located about 1.0 mile from Disneyland, the Kings Inn is an excellent choice for budget, location, and continental breakfast.
We have stayed here a couple of times. It’s perfect for distance and budget. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the free continental breakfast has all the basics.
That being said, if you are looking for a more resort ambiance or a higher-end hotel stay this may not be for you.
If you need a solid place to sleep on your Disneyland vacation, this will be a quick and easy option for your family.

Motel 6 is less than a mile from Disneyland and offers a great budget option- one of my favorite budget options…and I don’t say that lightly: we tried a different budget hotel (that will not be named) and ran into cockroaches. Yuck!
Not only is Motel 6 a national chain so you know what you’ll get, but it’s clean and comfortable- no bugs!
I would have liked an extra blanket and pillow, but we were only there one night and didn’t bother asking for extras which I’m sure they would have provided.
The room had plenty of shelves and a cute little corner booth chair by the table.
The bathroom area had a door to partition it from the main room, but there was no door between the shower/toilet area and sink area.
Great place to crash & get ready to rope drop.

Convenient comfort is what I would label this option. Nothing extra fancy, but a good place to have some poolside fun, save a little on breakfast for families, and be within 15 minutes of walking to the Disneyland Parks.

A Disney Good Neighbor Hotel is a hotel approved by Disney for Quality, Comfort, and Value.
These hotels are able to offer a Disneyland Vacation Package where tickets are included in the cost of the hotel stay.
Walt Disney World specifically states that Good Neighbor Hotels are not only approved by Disney but also are approved by AAA. Disney requires them to have transportation to and from the theme parks (free or for a fee).
In either state, a Good Neighbor hotel is authorized to sell Disney Park tickets in the lobby.
It is not a Disney-owned hotel and is not on Disneyland property, unlike the Disneyland Resort Hotels like the Grand Californian Hotel and Spa.

There are many hotels without this title and hotels with the title that are not listed on Disneyland’s website.
Just because it’s not a Good Neighbor Hotel does not necessarily mean it’s a bad hotel, just that they have not undergone any inspection or application to receive this affiliate credential.
Kings Inn Anaheim at the Parks & Convention Center and Stanford Inn & Suites claim to be a GNH on their website but are not listed on Disneyland’s website.
It doesn’t necessarily mean they are not one, they just may not have an affiliate agreement that includes placement on Disney’s website (not confirmed, just speculation).
Kings Inn is an excellent budget choice and is also AAA-approved.
What is ART?
ART stands for Anaheim Resort Transit. It is a public transportation system that goes from many hotels in the Anaheim area to the Disneyland Resort.
This shuttle also goes to the Los Angeles Union Station for easy train access to the beaches and Santa Barbara, the shopping outlets in Orange County, Costa Mesa for Segerstrom Center, and Buena Park where you will find Knott’s Berry Farm, Pirate’s Dinner Adventure, and Medieval Times.
Kids under 2 years old are free. You can purchase tickets on the app or at an information window. ART typically functions from 7 am to midnight, starting 1 hour before the ART destinations open.

A Disney Good Neighbor Hotel is a hotel approved by Disney for Quality, Comfort, and Value. These hotels are able to offer a Disneyland Vacation Package where tickets are included in the cost of the hotel stay. A Good Neighbor hotel is authorized to sell Disney Park tickets in the lobby and depending on your package may also include benefits such as 10% off at many Downtown Disney locations and a Walt Disney Travel Company lanyard with a pin.
